Tiger Nageswara Rao is a 2023 Telugu-language period action thriller film that Abhishek Agarwal produces, Vamsee writes and directs. Alongside Anupam Kher, Jisshu Sengupta, Nupur Sanon (in her film debut), Renu Desai, Gayatri Bhardwaj, and Murali Sharma, Ravi Teja plays the film's titular character.

On October 20, 2023, the movie was released in theaters throughout the world to largely negative reviews from reviewers.

Premise

In the 1970s, Tiger Nageswara Rao is a robber who rules Stuartpuram's terror zone and plans a number of audacious heists. His cunning ways of fooling the police became legendary in the area. The narrative centers on Tiger's exciting adventures and the engrossing game of cat and mouse that he plays with the police, who are commanded by CI Mouli.

Vamsee declared in December 2017 that he intended to create a biographical movie about the 1970s robber Tiger Nageswara Rao.[6] Early in March 2018, rumors circulated that Rana Daggubati will play Tiger Nageswara Rao.[7] The sources, however, were disregarded when it was revealed in late April 2021 that Vamsee had visited Ravi Teja in Hyderabad while Teja was filming Khiladi (2022) and that Teja had recounted a storyline that interested the actor. In early June, Nani was rumored to play the character [8].[9] It was unclear, nevertheless, if this was a fresh script or Tiger Nageswara Rao's original work. On November 3, Abhishek Agarwal, who is producing, made a statement in public.

Filming 


Filming for the movie commenced in Hyderabad in 2022, with principal photography taking place on five acres close to Shamshabad in Telangana. Ravi Teja had an injury in an action sequence when the movie was being filmed, but he soon returned to the camera.In 2022, Anupam Kher and Nupur Sanon joined the shoot.The film crew completed its work in July 2023.

Soundtrack

G. V. Prakash Kumar wrote the movie's soundtrack. September 5, 2023, saw the release of the first single, "Ek Dum Ek Dum". September 21, 2023, saw the release of the second single, "Veedu". December 12, 2023, saw the release of the third single, "Icchesukuntaale".

Along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, the movie was released on October 20, 2023.

Domestic media


Amazon Prime Video brought the digital rights to the movie in all languages.The movie debuted in Telugu on November 17, 2023, along with dubbed Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions on the site.

After being cut down to 144 minutes, the Hindi version was posted on YouTube and attracted a lot of attention.

Negative response

The Indian Express's Raghu Bandi gave the movie a 2 out of 5 star rating, writing, "Tiger Nageswara Rao has lofty goals, but the film's core is not well-positioned." As a result, the film is not sufficiently believable." India's Janani K "Tiger Nageswara Rao" needed more punch to keep the audience riveted to their seats throughout the whole film, according to Today, which gave the movie a 2 out of 5 star rating. The film may have had the desired effect if the crew had focused on the timing.The review "Ravi Teja Starrer Loses Focus And Wanders All Over The Place" was written by Gautaman Bhaskaran of News 18 with a rating of 2/5 stars.

With a rating of 1.5 out of 5, Balakrishna Ganeshan of The News Minute commented, "presenting a sensitive subject in a commercial format without nuance results in Tiger Nageswara Rao ending up as a lousy film."Rediff.com's Mayur Sanap gave the movie a 1/5 star rating, writing, "The drama is weighed down by the monotonous emotional beats in its dramatic moments, even with Ravi Teja's unwavering energy." You just feel irritated as the movie nears its conclusion, trying to move you.". With the exception of a few sequences, the Telugu daily Eenadu's review of the film said that it falls short of expectations in terms of overall quality.
